Balamu Community Outreach Program (BACOP) proudly celebrates Hopeful Future Secondary School for emerging as the overall winner in the Football for a Drug-Free Lifestyle Inter-School Tournament 2025. Their teams showcased exceptional talent, discipline, and leadership—winning in both Boys’ and Girls’ football categories!
In addition to their football achievements, Hopeful Future was honored with the Football Innovation Award 2025 for leading practical and creative efforts to combat drug abuse in schools. Their commitment to raising awareness and empowering students contributes greatly to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being).
About the Initiative
Drug abuse among students is one of the biggest challenges affecting school performance and increasing dropout rates. Through the Football for a Drug-Free Lifestyle Initiative, BACOP and our partners are using sport as a powerful tool to:
✔ Educate students about the dangers of substance abuse
✔ Promote positive behavior change
✔ Strengthen teamwork, confidence, and life skills
✔ Encourage students to stay in school and pursue their dreams
On 25th October 2025, BACOP organized a major football event where students from partner secondary schools showcased the skills and knowledge gained throughout the program — not only in sports, but also in practicing healthy, drug-free living.
A Victory with Purpose
Hopeful Future Secondary School has demonstrated that when young people are provided with the right guidance, mentorship, and opportunities, they can overcome challenges and become champions both on and off the field. Their achievement is a symbol of hope and a strong statement that a drug-free lifestyle leads to a winning future!
